As always, Neil’s compositions and playing are absolute genius. The whole album is at once emotive, sophisticated and beautiful. it’s jazz, it’s expressive and it’s African, yet it speaks to the whole world. My favorite album of Neil’s yet!

What an amazing body of work. I see the trio was more adventurous this time. I particularly like how some tracks are locked in groove while at the same time explorative and almost whimsical in melody.

What a beautiful body of work! 🙌🏽 I have so many favorites also 😅 and in a random note, Midnight Moves gives me some Dave Grusin vibes. My favs are African Time, Let's Do It Again, Rise and Shine, Southern Migration (obviously cos of the rhythmic coolness 🔥) and Disciples We.

There's an amazing flow of the music from one track to the next, like you're telling a story.

Pianist Neil Gonsalves launched his Trio album in fine style at Dokkies… The Trio was crisp and accomplished, the music just too beautiful.
